CHOOSING A PRINTER
Printers range in size, features, speed and options. Choosing the right printer for your application is easy once you know the features you may need and your overall objectives.
Single or Duplex Printing
Will you be printing cards with information on the front only, or will you need to print on the back of the card also? Personal data, logo's, photo's,bar-codes and text eventually crowds the front. With the duplex option, printers automatically flip the cards and print on the back, saving you lots of time. Ideal for adding personal data, bar-codes,text, logo's and much more.
Volume
Small-mid size customers have different workload demands than larger applications that require continuous run-times and faster printing. What's your estimated monthly card printing volume? Less than 25, more than 100? How often will you be re-badging? Do you have seasonal peaks?
Printer Options
Duplex printing, mag stripe encoding and lamination are just some of the printer options available- and while some options can be purchased and added later down the road, others options need to be pre-installed before shipping. Our experts can guide you though the options available.
Card Material
Most printers are able to print on a range of card thickness, from a thin .10 mil to thicker 30 mil (same as your credit card). We carry a complete line of cards, including plain and custom printed, or you can provide your own cards.
Print Ribbons
Card printers use special ribbons to print on cards known as "Dye sublimation" printing process, which is extremely secure and durable. We carry over 300 different ribbons including holographic over-laminates that add even greater card protection.
Decentralized Printing
If you have have multiple locations or groups that handle card printing you may benefit from networking options, even adding in other printer to increase production. We can assist you with understanding these options and help you decide the best solution.
